REVIEW: Yuki & Love’s Boba Pineapple Cake

It’s a boba thing… I consider myself a bobaficionado & love all things boba! 😉

On a recent shopping trip at 99 Ranch Market in Gardena, CA, I found these delectable treats: Yuki & Love’s Boba Pineapple Cake (菠蘿珍珠酥).

Boba Pineapple Cake

Pineapple cake (鳳梨酥) have been historically produced as a ceremonial food & is one of Taiwan’s best ‘souvenir’ sellers. These traditional pastries typically filled with pineapple jam are now stuffed with boba!

Upon opening the individually sealed cake, you’re hit with a fragrant pineapple scent. Biting into the buttery soft cake, there’s a bit of give & crumbles… you immediately taste the sweet pineapple jam followed with added chewiness from the tapioca filling (I can’t quite call it “boba” pearls because I don’t see pearls). The amuse bouche is a perfect complement to a cup of tea or coffee.
